Accelerate The Cure Travel Award
Brought to you by The Accelerators Podcast and ACRO. Whatever happens in Vegas ...
We’re excited to announce a unique opportunity for radiation oncology residents and medical students: The Accelerate The Cure Travel Award (ATC), funded by The Accelerators Podcast and administered by the American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO).
Four selected awardees will receive a $500 travel grant to attend ACRO's 2025 Annual Meeting in Las Vegas. Medical students and residents, both domestic and international, are eligible. This travel award is designed to support innovative minds passionate about advancing cancer care.
Applicants are invited to submit a 3-5 minute video responding to the following prompt:
What research question would you want to study and get answered?
In your video, share your ideas and design a study focused on questions that:
Optimize cancer outcomes AND/OR
Reduce toxicity AND/OR
Improve patient-reported outcomes AND/OR
Enhance quality in a measurable way.
A few key points to keep in mind:
The goal is to communicate an innovative study idea for Radiation Oncology; there is no expectation to complete a project, but it would be cool if that happened!
Your video should include discussion of a hypothesis, interventions (if applicable), and outcomes.
The focus should be on direct, meaningful benefits to patients.
Optimized cancer outcomes do not necessarily mean improved survival. Consider other impactful endpoints - feel free to make them up.
Incorporating innovative technology - MRI-linac, PET-linac, protons, etc. - is encouraged.
Economic/cost of care considerations are welcome if they tie into the above goals.
Videos will be judged on the strength of the ideas, not the production value or editing. A simple selfie video recorded on your phone is absolutely fine.
Informality is encouraged—think of this as a fun conversation with friends at the bar.
Please limit your video to 5 minutes.
Here is an example video:

DEADLINE IS January 21 at 11:59PM
